The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Education Community Development Service Group, CDs, Batch A Stream One posted in Abam, Arochukwu LGA has expressed profound gratitude to the Arochukwu State Constituency Aspirant and the Founder, IOK Educational Foundation, Prince Ike Okorafor for his tremendous support that facilitated the success of her Pet Project, the hosting of Debate competition for secondary schools in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.
The NYSC CDs group who were on a thank-you visit to Prince Ike Okorafor at his Ozu Abam residence on February 05, 2022, described him as a progressive partner. She commended his immense contributions and appreciated him for extending his magnanimity to the CDs group on her pet project.
The President of the CDs group who led members of her Executives to the visit in her speech said Ike Okorafor’s philanthropy, passion, deep interest and accomplishments especially in the Educational sector is worthy of emulation. She said they came to thank him for also using his foundation, IOK Educational Foundation to support the growth and development of Education in Abam through the launching of Academic programmes that have enhanced academic learning and sponsoring of more than 30 indigent students in Abam who are on scholarship among others.
” We are here to thank one of our sponsors, Prince Ike Okorafor for using his foundation to support us during the debate competition hosted for secondary schools in Abam. His financial support and logistics he provided for us helped us to actualize the project seamlessly. The debate competition was organised to motivate the younger ones who are exhibiting a high level of intellectual dexterity and also to encourage other students to take their studies more seriously”, she added.
In his response, Prince Ike Okorafor appreciated them for the visit and also extolled them for embarking on such an academic programme whose positive impacts on society will never be forgotten in a hurry.
The Arochukwu State Constituency Aspirant who congratulated the overall best school, Aggrey Memorial College for their doggedness and exhibition of high academic performance used the medium to reiterate his determination to continue to support academic learning and create enabling environment for our students, adding that for a Nation to succeed and thrive in modern-day technological advancement, there is a need for the government and individuals to contribute their quota and motivate this younger one who has the passion for education, hence, why he has never relented in providing all the necessary supports needed for the indigent but brighter ones to have access to quality education.
The debate competition, titled “Educational Qualifications Determines Success in life, involved a total of 9 schools, within Abam participating while Aggrey Memorial College won the laurel as the overall best school in Abam.
The highlights of the debate competition were the presentation of Awards to the overall best school and the runners while gifts were also presented to other participating schools.
