The Abia state coordinator of National Identity Management commission, NIMC, Mr Loveday Ogbonna says the Commission will resume operations in the Area on Monday, July 12, 2021, one year and six months after their office was gutted by fire.
Mr Loveday made this known when he visited the Executive Chairman of Bende Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Onwuchekwa in his office.
He stated that NIMC operates and regulates matters of National Identity, with services covering National Identification Number ( NIN) enrollment, which is now a requirement for all Government transactions.
He regretted the inconveniences their long absence have caused the people of Bende and thanked the Executive Chairman for his assistance particularly the provision of office accommodation and other necessary materials needed for their take off, while promising to cover all lost grounds, including Creation of more Registration centers considering the vast nature of the Local Government.
Responding, Chief Emmanuel Onwuchekwa said his administration is open for partnership with Government agencies for the benefits of his people including the Willenrolment and the ongoing continuing registration of Voters,.
He thanked the Abia state coordinator of NIMC for ensuring that the Bende Registration center resumes operation and promised to give more assistance for their smooth take off.
