AbiaDecides: Your formidable team not by accident, Ariam-Usaka Professionals congratulates LP’s Otti, Nwokocha, Aguocha, Isienyi
By Charity Uwakwe
The entire body of Ariam-Usaka Professionals, (AUP) in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State, has unanimously congratulated the leader of Labour Party in the State and Governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti for emerging victorious in the just concluded gubernatorial election.
Ariam-Usaka Professionals also congratulated the trio of Hon Darlington Nwokeocha, Senate-elect for Abia Central Senatorial District, High Chief Obi Aguocha, Member-elect for Federal House of Representatives and
Engr. Boniface Isienyi member-elect for Ikwere State Assembly.
“As Abians jubilate on the announcement of Dr Alex Otti as the governor-elect of Abia state, on behalf of the great people of Ariam-Usaka Ancient Kingdom, Ikwuano Local Government Area and the entire Abia State, the Ariam-Usaka Professionals (AUP) says a big congratulation to His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti for emerging the winner of the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election.”
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by Prince Innocent Eleogu Ferdinand Ibezim and Ifeanyi Ibe, the International President, Director,
International Secretariat and Head AUP Media Team, respectively, issued to the Media.
Speaking on behalf of AUP, Prince Eleogu, who described the team in the State as formidable, recounted that their victory had brought about the long awaited change for the people of the State, evident in the nonstop jubilations in every nook and cranny of the State, as Abians in other States and across the globe could scarcely hide their overwhelming joy.
While acknowledging that the emergence of the team is deliberate, AUP president explained that, “it is rare to achieve this unique party lineup in one state, and Abia State for that matter. The development speaks to the deliberate, concerted efforts of Ndi Abia to say good riddance to bad rubbish of 24 years.
Continuing, he said: “In the buildup to the election all Abians placed their hands on the plough and never looked back on the election days. All that mattered was a vote for the Labour Party. And the result is exciting.
“Since March 18, across Abia State, it has been jubilation resulting from confidence that Abians did the right thing. For Abians, the confidence was huge and taken to the bank that Labour Party would triumph. And so it came to pass. This confidence reflected in policing the ballot, policing INEC, and all agents of evil that were bent on taking the state backward.
“It was little surprise that wild jubilation rent the air across all communities of the state as parties were held everywhere in total appreciation for a long awaited change that had come.
Furthermore, the President stressed that “indeed, Abia was marked different yesterday from other states as witnessed with the momentum of the jubilation that followed the declaration of Dr. Otti as Governor-elect.
“It was a celebration engendered by the people’s collective realisation that it was an ultimate act of divine liberation from a whopping 24 years of unfounded, directionless, inhuman, unquantifiable and inexplicable leadership failure that stagnated growth and development.
Saddled with emotions borne out of the protracted subjugation and suppression of the people of Abia by the PDP led Government, Eleogu wailed that the outgoing Governor in a sermon disgraceful manner, informed that his administration donated paltry allowance of ₦500 to pregnant mothers who deliver of their babies in Government facilities.
Hear him: “In those 24 years, what Abia State had was leadership deluded and bereft of vision and strategy to the extent that various governments couldn’t attract a thing as simple as a state-of-the-art eatery into the state, talk less of big investment.
“To add salt to injury the last government rolled out the drum to celebrate the paltry allowance of ₦500 to pregnant mothers. Abia State was nationally scandalised when this news broke. But that’s one of the kind of achievements Abia was known for in 24 years.
“For 24 years Abia communities did not know what rural development looked like. Most communities have no access roads, no electricity, no hospital, no market. It was a 24 years of wickedness, selfishness and stealing Abia blind.
“It was a 24 years of an oil producing state in shambles, beggarly and hopeless. All indices of development nowhere to be found. And non accountability of the oil and internally generated revenues.
“It was a 24 years of locust, caterpillar, cankerworm and palmerworm. Everything eaten up and the state raped. 24 years of not being bothered about neighbouring states overtaking Abia in all spheres of human development.
“All the governments cared was a stranglehold on all levers of power. They empowered touting thuggery and bloodshed to keep the people silenced.
“Most pathetic is that civil servants would not get paid. Their achievement is in the avalanche of salaries owed across ministries and the non accreditation of courses by federal education authorities.
However, he expressed intense joy for the arrival of Otti whom he described as a sound and deeply committed technocrat, alongside his well refined team, admitting that,;
“Today, God has clothed Abia with the mantle of the remembered one by giving the state a sound and deeply committed technocrat, an
economist, a former banker, an investor and a philanthropist. Dr. Otti’s wealth of experience over the years shall certainly play out in the governance of the state. State resources will experience the dexterity of private entrepreneurial management which comes with profitability and accountability. This is unlike those that took over governance by happenstance having served as PA to this, PA to that. That history is wiped out.
“Ariam-Usaka Professionals therefore uses this occasion of Abia’s liberation to call on all Abians to give Dr. Otti and his team of Labour Party Representatives, at state and national levels, the necessary support to reinvent the state.
“Abians must realise that the sorry state we have found ourselves will take time, hardworking and cooperation to put us on development pedestal.
#Long live Dr. Otti.
#Long live our Labour Party #Representatives.
“Long live Abia State.
Long live Ariam-Usaka Professionals.”
