Ado-Ekiti Inferno: Police Link Explosion To Bomb Detection Devices

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti state, Amba Asuquo has linked the explosion that rocked the state today to some bomb detection devices kept in the area stating that technical occurrence may have resulted in the incident.

Recall that residents of Ado Ekiti were on Saturday were traumatised as an Explosive Ordinance Device rocked the state capital, although it, however, did not record any casualties.

The Commissioner of Police, Asuquo who spoke to Newsmen, while confirming the incident the disaster linked the explosion to some bomb detection devices which had lasted in the area and p may have exploded by a technical
occurrence.

“These demolition accessories, in case there’s a bomb blast and they want to rescue the bomb out of that place, they might have the need for it. So it was kept in their stock house and it must have exploded from there,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi was at the scene of the explosion in the state capital, at the EOD office of the Nigeria Police Headquarters located on the Old Governor’s Road, on an inspection.

However, all efforts to have Mr Kayode Fayemi, speak with journalists on the spot of assessment were futile.
