Following the recent attack on Imo state Federal Correctional Centre, as well as the police headquarters, and subsequent invasion of Cross River State’s Federal Correctional Centre, by yet unidentified gunmen, the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Timipre Sylva says the best way to tackle security problem is by creating job opportunities for the teaming unemployed youths through the advent of gas energy.

The Honourable Minister stated this shortly after the first phase of a 2- day National Gas Expansion Programme, (NGEP), held by the government of Imo State, in collaboration with the Federal Minister of Petroleum Resources, yesterday, at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, the state’s.

The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre assured the people of Imo State of an envisioned economic revolution in the state with the advent of energy.

Asked whether the present security instability would necessitate the emergence of the anticipated development, Minister Timipre reiterated that insecurity would be drastically reduced if job opportunities could be made available to the teaming youths across the states.

Hear him: “That is the problem; which comes first? Is it the security that should come first or the investment that should come first that will ensure security.
I believe that the problem with our people is because many people do not have jobs. But if best way to tackle security problem is to create job opportunities.

Adding, he said: “if we are able to create jobs by jumping on this industrial revolution strategy, then we believe that a lot of our young people will be employed and there will be no place for insecurity again.

Corroborating, the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem who represented the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma harped the need for Nigerian youths to be gainfully employed.

According to Rt. Hon. Emeziem, making available employment opportunities for Nigerian youths will undoubtedly put at bay incidents of insecurity in the various states.

Assessing Newsmen, Hon. Bobby Michael Uchechukwu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment commended the Hon. Minister for deeming it necessary to educate the people of Imo State.

Hon. Uchechukwu, amidst delight maintained that the innovation would in no doubts foster the progress of the state.

“This is going to bring about progress to our state and so I find today to be a very meaningful day. I’ve seen that the Minister, Rt. Hon. Emeziem is trying to make us understand that the gas innovation is the way forward.

“This is somewhat that a lot of our people don’t know anything about but he came in here to educate us, to let us know that this is the way forward. If you go around town, you will find out that people fuel their cars and sometimes, you find out that those things make a litre of the state but now with the gas mechanism coming into play, it’s going to make the environment more pollution free. We have a lot of problems around but world today which is stems from the green house effects” he added
