Imo Child Trafficking: Attorney-General Akolisa Assures Ohanaeze Youths Justice

Ohanaeze Youth Council-OYC, under the leadership of national President, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka has condemned vehemently the the recurrent incidents of Child Trafficking in the present day society.

Comrd. Igboayaka insisted that Igboland would not give room for Child and Human Trafficking, as he described same as a social evil, reiterating that, “and we would not for any reason, whatsoever, allow it have a root in Ala-Igbo.”

This is following a recent case of Child Trafficking involving one Mrs. Chinyere Ohanyere in connection of Ngozi Ebuzoaju.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri, December 2, 2021, by Comrade Igboayaka appealed to “every man and woman of good fate to strictly adhere to rules and regulations guiding the principle of adopting babies.”

Furthermore, Igboayaka commended Attorney General of Imo State, Barr. C.O. C Akaolisa,
his explicit and unhesitant
clarification on the matter, in connection with Ngozi Ebuzoaju and co, as well as his promise of undiluted justice.

Adding, he said; “And to this end we must join hand to ensure justice and work hard to ensure that justice prevails”

“The Council, while interacting with Attorney General C.O. C Akaolisa, led by national president Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka on Monday 29th November, 2021 the attorney general assured the council that Justice will be served.

“The attorney general in his humility and high integrity assured the youth council that the suspects will be subjected to a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the children.

“He assured that the office of attorney general cannot support the criminal conduct of child trafficking in any form and he has recalled the case files from court to ensure proper police investigation.

“His assurances were satisfactory and we apologised to him for our earlier statement which is retracted based on his clear and lucid explanation.

“It’s important to inform the world that Ohanaeze Youth Council’s intervention as an organized scio-cultural organization is bent on upholding and promoting the norms and dignity of human life in Igbo land and that, as we can attest, was done in a good fate.

“We appreciate the prompt clarification of Barr. C.O.C Akaolisa, the Attorney General of Imo State, as it regards the case involving Mrs. Chinyere Ohanyere, Ngozi Ebuzoaju and the babies. The Attorney General states without mincing words that his position is devoid of sentiments, hence it is strictly targeted at procuring justice.

“Like we rightly said that Child Trafficking and human Trafficking is a social evil, and we would not for any reason, whatsoever, allow it have a root in Ala-Igbo. Moreso, the government of the state, led by His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has a legal means of Child adoption. Therefore, we expect every man and woman of good fate to strictly adhere to rules and regulations guiding the principle of adopting babies.

“Furthermore, Ohanaeze Youth Council is appealing to our people to join hand with 3R’s Shared Prosperity Government of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma to extirpate any form of Child Trafficking in Imo state and Ala-Igbo at large.

“At this juncture, the council expect every authority in this case, starting from the Police, the Judiciary and individuals, to recognize that injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. To this end, the ongoing campaign against Child and human trafficking is a call for all men and women of good-will should join. ‘All hands must be on deck’ to eradicate this cankerworm.
