The Igbo National Council (INC) in totality has condemned the recent torture, wanton destruction of property and brutal killing of armless civilians, in Orlu district of Imo State by the Nigerian Military.
The group also amidst heartache reprimanded the Nigeria Police for their involvement in the invasion homes of residents of the area and its accompanying bloodbath.
The group in a release signed by Pst. Chilos Godsent
President, INC worldwide ordered the perpetrators of the dreadful act to immediately refrain from such.
The group threatened to commence the prosecution of the heads of the various security agencies involved in the dastardly act against humanity, if the genocide persists.
The release read in full:
“We note with grief in our heart the mindless violent, torture, wanton destruction of properties and killings of armless civilians in Orlu district of Imo State by the Nigerian Military that has recklessly invaded and barricaded all major entry and exit points to Orlu district in pretense of searching for members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
The Igbo National Council (INC) condemn in strong terms the barbaric conduct of operatives of the Nigerian Military and Nigerian Police who has now turned themselves into soldiers of occupation as they now massively violate the Fundamental Human Rights of civilians in Orlu district through senseless torture, whipping and several other inhumane punishments meted out to the armless civilians.
We therefore state unequivocally, that if this madness is not stop forthwith within the next forty eight (48) hours, we will commence the prosecution of the heads of the various security agencies involved in this crime against humanity inclusive all individual security operatives whose faces and evil action were captured in many of the video clips circulating on social media’.
We therefore call on the Human Rights Watch (HRW), Amnesty International (AI) and the international communities to pressure the sadistic and nepotistic President Buhari led Federal Government to order the immediate withdrawal of these blood thirsty soldiers that has violated every known national and international standards and conventions in dealing with situations of the type we have in Orlu simply because of ethnic and tribal sentiment and bias.
We once again enjoin Governor Hope Uzodinma to wade into the matter before the Oyigbo saga starts taking place in Orlu were crazy military operatives invade homes of civilians bring them out, taken them to unknown destination and massacre them with impunity.
