*Is OUK the only hope for Nigeria? Part 1 – Aminu Shehu Uba. *Getting to know OUK

There is no escaping politics and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is a master at it.
A two time chief servant of Abia state and being in politics for over 3 decades, a successful businessman and a reputable father figure in the heart of Nigeria, there is no man capable and passionate enough to pilot the affairs of Nigeria when the seat becomes vacant in 2023 other than the chief whip of the Nigerian senate, Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.

Mr. Kalu was born on 21st April 1960 to the family of Mr. Johnson Uzor Nesiegbe Kalu and Mrs Eunice Kalu. He attended Christ the King School Aba and Government College Umuahia. After studying at Barewa College, Zaria, he enrolled in the University of Maiduguri where he studied political science. Mr. Kalu has a degree from Abia State University, a certificate of Business Administration from Harvard University and honorary doctorates from universities of Maiduguri and Abia state.

Having passed through the tutelage of trading from his father and mother, Kalu, as a teenager, was already an expert in the art of buying and selling of commodities. Although his parents ensured Kalu didn’t skip any form of education; primary, secondary and tertiary, they mentored him in the arts of business. At 26, Kalu was the youngest ever recipient of the National Merit Award by president Ibrahim Babangida. At 33 Kalu was already heading the First international bank limited. He is currently the chairman of SLOK holding and the Daily sun and New telegraph newspapers in Nigeria.

Putting square pegs in square holes to deliver quality governance to his people during his tenure a governor irrespective of your tribe, religion or background made Kalu to be loved and admired by citizens across varied backgrounds including women, youth, civic leaders, religious groups, social cultural groups and indeed lots of ordinary people. This led to the politician from Abia state, South East Nigeria to be given the Title: Danbaiwan-Hausa (Gifted Son of Hausa kingdom) by the Emir of Daura in President Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, is a Nigerian politician, business leader and public figure with a dominant influence in political, economic and social arena of Africa’s largest economy and democracy.

Mr Kalu as a leading voice for Nigeria and he still has a pivotal role to play in the emerging politics of 2023.

In part 2 and 3 I would be discussing Mr Kalu as a governor, senator and philanthropist. His giant strides and achievements no other candidate can match.
