Just In: Rishi Sunak Of India Emerges UK’s Youngest Prime Minister
Rishi Sunak has emerged as the new Leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party.
Sunak was announced as the new leader of the UK in a tweet on the Conservatives’ Twitter handle on Monday.
The Indian will be replacing Liz Truss, who announced her resignation from the position after just 44 days in office.
It would be recalled that Liz Truss, the former Prime Minister had last Thursday resigned as the United Kingdom Prime Minister.
Her resignation, which was figured to hear been prompted by a perceived envisaged incompetence to fit in the position, hence paving the way for a new leadership contest to take place within a fraction of one week.
Reportedly, Liz’s sudden resignation within a sketch of 44days of assumption of office, has left many tongues wagging, as many wonder why she accepted to serve in the said office, despite being conscious of her deficiency.
