Ohafia Indigenes Extol Orji Kalu Over Development Strides

Indigenes of Ohafia clan in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia state have applauded Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate for bringing massive developments to the district since his emergence, in the year, 2019.

Some leaders of the clan took turns to laud the former governor for delivering dividends of democracy within the two years he has represented the district.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), said since the Senate Chief Whip assumed office about two years ago, he has brought significant change to the narratives of his people through his numerous projects. He commended Senator Kalu for his quality representation of Abia North.

According to him, Kalu has performed so credibly that there was no part of Abia North that had not felt the impact of his representation.

“Today we have people following APC because of OUK. He is the architect of good governance through people refer to me as good governance. What he is doing in Abia North is a continuation of his work as governor, he has not changed. Abia North is blessed to have him as Senator.”

Also, Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, Traditional ruler (Ezieogo) of Ebem Ohafia has lauded the Senate Chief Whip for completing the reconstruction of Kpoke primary school and the road leading to Okon from Ebem, adding that before Kalu came to the political space, roads in the local government were in bad shape.

While thanking the senator for maintaining the roads he built in the area when he was governor, Eze Ukoha said that the communities he touched during his tenure as governor will not forget him in a hurry.

Similarly, Hon. Steve Anagha, said Sen. Kalu’s representation in the past two years has been phenomenal. Anagha added that through Kalu’s exceptional works in Abia North, he has repeatedly shown other zones in Nigeria what Senatorial representation looks like.

He lauded Kalu for flag-ging off the distribution of educational materials, saying the former governor of Abia State has shown exceptional love for Ohafia people by the numerous amenities sited there. “Orji Uzor Kalu built many roads for us; gave us water; renovated our schools; gave our children employment; empowered several families, and today he is distributing school bags and textbooks to all the primary and secondary school students in government schools. “His performance as our senator is only but phenomenal. We have never experienced such leadership and we are grateful and thankful to God.

Ezieogo of Abia, Emmanuel Ebere, said since the creation of the community, Senator Kalu made it possible for the community to see a tarred road.

“The Premier of defunct Eastern Nigeria, Dr Michael Okpara, even the late Chief Sam Mbakwe, former governor of old Imo State and some other governors, all came at one point or the other with a promise to tar the road, but all in vain, until Kalu went to the Senate,” he noted.

Ezeogo Ebere said his people are solidly behind Kalu in all his political endeavours.

Hon Onyema Iro, a native of Akanu said: “We are happy with what Senator Kalu is doing for us at the Senate and we have resolved to give him every support.”

Other natives of the area, including Emele Uke and Okoro Glory said the entire people will ever remain grateful to the senator for the numerous dividends he is bringing to Abia North.

Another community leader from Ndi Ibe Ohafia, Elder Idika Ukpai commended the Senate Chief Whip for being a friend of the community. He said,” Senator Kalu constructed the road in our community when he was the governor of the state. Today, he has rehabilitated and reconstructed the road. It was during his time that we had the opportunity of producing a Councillor which is the highest office occupied by any of our sons. We are going to support him in his future aspirations,” he said.
