Orji Uzor Visits Nnamdi Kanu In DSS Custody, Speaks On Health Condition

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in sound health.

The Senator representing Abia North made this revelation today, when he visited Kanu who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, noting that issuing good counseling to both the leader and Nigerians in general, is one of his obligations

Sen. Kalu recounted on the cordial relationship that has existed between him and the Kanu’s, which he said, came to being when his administration enthroned the latter’s father, HRM, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu, as the traditional ruler of traditional ruler of Akwara Ukwu autonomous Community, in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.

According to Kalu who disclosed that Kanu was in good health, his interface with the latter was coated with brotherly love.

Hear him: “This afternoon, I visited my brother, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody , Abuja . I met him in good health and care and we discussed as ‘Umunne’. In 2001 when I was Governor, I made his father Eze Israel Okwu Kanu traditional ruler of Akwara Ukwu and since then the family has been very close to me.

Advising the leader of IPOB, Kalu said:
“I understand that Nnamdi has an insane amount of people rooting for his back home and I encouraged him to consider the consequences of certain actions and utterances for the sake of the same people.

Speaking further, he said: “Even though, my ideology and his ideology are totally different , God has made us brothers and we can’t run away from each other. I owe him and Nigerians good counseling.Whether he and his family listens to me or not, I will continue counseling him as I have always done in the past. What we need most is a peaceful and secured society”, he concluded.
