Abians have been urged to embrace and support the crusade of good governance in Abia state, as preached by Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, hence it is the only escape route from the obvious protracted retardation in the state’s economy.
Chief Madukwe EE Ukaegbu gave this charge in an unscheduled meeting with Famous Reporters, in the early hours of Wednesday, along Finbar’s Road, Umuahia, the state’s capital, pointing out that Dr. Maduekwe has been in the forefront of good governance advocacy in the state.
Chief Madukwe whose morning exercise was disrupted by our roving Correspondent spoke to the latter on the importance of good governance, emphasised the urgent need for seismic shift in the state, regretting that bad governance has left the state in utter jeopardy over the years.
He, however, reiterated that Dr. Chidia Maduekwe was at the forefront of good governance advocacy in Abia State, adding, “having looked at the program as presented by Dr. Chidia Maduekwe on good governance, I was relaxed to be towed by the program for the good of Abia”, he said.
He emphasized that good governance remained the best thing that Abia State deserves “and should be preached in the nukes and crannies of Abia.
“Dr. Chiadi has been going round the 17 LGA’s of the state, preaching good governance and he has been doing this over the years. He has been going around consulting people with a message of good governance. He says it’s the only thing that can rescue the state from her prolonged backwardness.
“Dr. Chidia is leading a crusade of good governance in the 17 LGA’s of the state and we’re hoping that good governance would come to the state by 2023”, he insisted.
