Rep Member, Nkole Receives Team Abia Free Home Health Care Services for Elderly in Arochukwu

The  member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia state, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole, today, Friday May 15 2020, in his country home in Ozu Abam  received a medical team from Abia State Free Home Health Care Services for Elderly.

Addressing the team led by the Administrator, Dr. Chuk Emenike Osondu, during a courtesy call on the Political Leader of Arochukwu LGA, at his Ozu Abam country home, Rt. Hon. Nkole commended the team’s painstaking efforts towards alleviating the penurious state of the elderly ones in the various communities of the 17 LGAs across the state, through their door-to-door distribution of palliatives.

He thanked Dr. Okezie and Dr. Mrs Nkechi Victor Ikpeazu, the first family in Abia State for their foresightedness in  initiating  the Project which is novel in the history of Governance in Nigeria.

Nkole who admitted that ‘service to humanity is service to God’, urged the team to keep the light aglow, as he prayed God to reward their sacrifice to humanity.

He reassured the team of an uninterrupted security as they traverse all the communities in the federal constituency while delivering their services.

Furthermore, the impeccable Federal Lawmaker commended the wife of the Governor of Abia state, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu for her magnanimity displayed through her Vicar Hope Foundation towards the widows and vulnerable in the Constituency, describing her as the present day’s Dorcas, while recounting on the various buildings erected so far by the First Lady since the emergence of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu’s administration.

“I want to use this medium to convey my heartfelt appreciation on behalf of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency to Her Excellency, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for always solving shelter challenges faced by Abians through her Vicar Hope Foundation and building over 60 houses for the widows and vulnerable ones in the State. Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu is the DORCAS of our time for always replicating the kind gestures of Dorcas in the Bible”, he noted.

Earlier, the team leader, Dr. Osondu expressed their gratitude to the Lawmaker for the warm reception, as well as providing the team with logistics, which he pointed out had mitigated their workload in their quest to reach out to other communities in Arochukwu LGA.

Meanwhile, the team were  in Abam as the first port of call enroute the remaining other 4 component clans in Arochukwu Local Government Area for the distribution of palliatives and relief items for the elderly with special focus on the bedridden in the fight to cushion the subsisting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in line with the FREE HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES of the Governor, to render the service in the communities across the 17 LGAs.

It would be recalled that Governor Ikpeazu  had on November 1, 2017 launched the FREE HOME HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY, an empowerment designed to satisfy health care needs of those in the grassroot.

The outfit as gathered is also geared towards improving the health status of both families and individuals with more focus on elderly citizens in the seventeen (17) local government areas of Abia State.
