Members of Abia Ladies’ Vanguard, a sociopolitical organization in Abia State, have unanimously reiterated their unflinching support for the candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, for Umuahia North State Constituency of Abia State, Rev. Blessed Amalambu.

The group, comprising women of Umuahia North made this pledge at Afugiri, during a meeting with the ADC Candidate, describing his emergence as a divine mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the ladies, the founder of the organization which consists of not fewer than 300 eligible women, Evangelist (Mrs.) Uche Ohaeri, assured Amalambu of their willingness and readiness to work with him towards the actualisation of his vision, hence to represent the Constituency in the State’s House of Assembly.

Evangelist Ohaeri who argued that they had overtime acted as catalysts for ensuring that certain candidates emerged but were relegated to the background after assumption of office, reiterated their confidence in Amalambu, whom she described as Godsent to the people.

The group reassured Amalambu of their unalloyed support, noting that “we will not disappoint you and we will not abandon you. We shall support you and we’ll take this message to our people who are not here. Both we, our husbands and children shall support you so we can have a change.

“Having you in our midst is an indication that the finger of God is upon you. We’re ready and willing to work with you and make sure you emerge. We are ready to move with you and work for you as boot agents so long as you will integrate us in your activities. We don’t want to be relegated at the background as has been the case. This is the type of man that the poor masses need”, she admitted.

Responding amidst ecstasy, Rev. Amalambu who thanked the women for the confidence reposed in him, as he assured that their hoped would not be dashed.

Speaking, he said: “Only those with spiritual eyes can see and understand the truth”, he said, as he admitted to knowing about the pains and agonies of the people over the years, and pledged to make them experience joy untold, if elected.

The ADC candidates who accused past representatives of confiscating and embezzling funds meant for rural development, hence Constituency fund, promised to bring back same to the people and also supervise various projects that would be executed in the area, through the NAVC of ICPC.

“Everyone feels the pain of the bad leadership both in Abia State and in Nigeria. Everyone including students, Health workers, civil servants, etc are victims of bad leadership. All those who we have been electing to represent us have been tricking and defrauding us. But, by the grace of God in my life, everyone who knows me will testify. I’m not a fraudulent man or a two-edged sword. My word is my bond. To me, a promise is a bond.

Addressing newsmen, Amalambu described the Constituency allowance as funds that is specifically designed for rural development, while promising to stop at nothing in engendering their long desired change particularly in making sure that the usual Constituency allowance which has been kept under cover by past representatives would be delivered to them accordingly.

“Constituency allowance is a particular fund that is mapped out for the development of rural areas, given to the Constituencies through the representatives. It is money meant specifically for rural development and empowerment which should be used in collaboration with the stakeholders of the Constituency.

“My assurance to them is that as God’s servant and a messenger of the God, called to rescue the people who have been under oppression and have been deprived of their rights and privileges by the past representatives in the House of Assembly, I’m assuring them that my own will be a different case.

“I’m going to write the wrongs and set the record straight by making sure that whatever allocation given to the Constituency gets to them untouched. The difference I’ll make is to ensure that the actual amount of money will be disclosed to my Constituency and in collaboration with the stakeholders, we’ll make sure of the projects to be done in line with the basic needs of the people, which will be visible and thoroughly supervised by my through my office and team, NAVC of ICPC.

Meanwhile, the highlight of the event was a passionate prayer by the women upon the candidate.
