The Executives of The Bridge Movement, an umbrella body of Labour Party (LP) in Abia State, have reiterated their relentless commitment to ensuring that the trio of Mr. Peter Obi, Dr. Alex Otti and Hon. Iheyinna Mgbeahuru, candidates of the party, emerge winners at the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The Executives stressed that they shall stop at nothing in ensuring that Obi and Otti win the Nigerian presidency and Abia governorship, respectively, while insisting on the candidature of Hon. Mgbeahuru as their choice for the Abia State House of Assembly for Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency.

Meanwhile, The Bridge is an umbrella that houses, promotes and supports the candidature of Obi, Otti and Osisioma Ngwa State Constituency, Mgbeahuru, in order to ensure their resounding victory in the election.

Addressing the group during the official presentation of the Executives to Mgbeahuru, (The Bridge), the former Executive Chairman of Osisioma LGA of Abia State, the chairman of the Movement, Chief Williamson Clement expressed gratitude to God for sending Mgbeahuru to them.

He urged members of the group, and party members to throw their weights behind Mgbeahuru to enable him being to fore what he has stored up for them.

On the emergence of The Bridge, he said: “Alex Otti has a foundation, Peter Obi has a foundation and here is our leader (The Bridge Foundation) who has the capacity to lead us to the Governor and Senate is right here in our midst and so, I’m calling on everyone of us to support him because he had in the past proven his love for us when he was the Executive Chairman.

“Iheyinna will be liberal to us all in distributing whatever is meant for us. I am glad to identify with the winning team and I’m sure of victory for Labour at last”, he boasted.”

Addressing newsmen, Chief Clement described members of the Bridge as fishers of men whose mandate is to lead their candidates to the promise land come 2023.

Hear him: “The Executives comprised 30 persons from Osisioma Ward 6. We’re Fishers of men who will lead Hon. Iheyinna Mgbeahuru to the State House come 2023, and also Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Alex Otti to Aso Rock and Abia State Government House, respectively.

Also, the party’s Ward Chairman, Chief Obiajunwa Onyeze described the arrival of The Bridge and apt, explaining that they had long anticipated a time when the former Executive Chairman would rescue them from their abject poverty.

Onyeze who stressed that they were determined to change both the political and social narrative of the area and Nigeria in general, further disclosed that the party had been able to woo and win many from the Constituency into the party, as well as sensitise the people on the need to obtain their PVCs.

“This is a time we’ve been longing for; So, we’ve been prepared even before now. We have sensitize our people on the need to obtain their PVCs and they have done that.

“They have also joined Labour Party because we want to initiate a change both politically, socially and otherwise.

On the issue of godfargerism in the Constituency and State in general, he pointed out that there would be
zero tolerance for godfatherism at various levels.

Speaking, he said: “We are tired of godfatherism in Abia State. We want people who will liberate Osisioma Ngwa North, Abia and Nigeria in general”.

“We believe strongly that Hon. Iheyinna Ositadinma Mgbeahuru, Dr. Alex Otti and Mr. Peter Obi will liberate us from all shackles once they’re elected”, he reassured.

Responding, Hon. Mgbeahuru thanked immensely members of the Bridge for the outpour of love, as he pledged to bring back to them dividends of democracy when elected.

He also used the medium to appeal to the people and party in general, not to relent in their evangelistic mission, thus winning more members into the party.

He also enjoined them to support aggressively, the party’s governorship and presidential candidates, Dr. Alex Otti OFR and Mr. Peter Obi, respectively.
